Scene 5 – In the road – Day – EXT.

Bob with Patrick walk down. Bob is concerned while Patrick walks next to him, insensitive and indifferent, holding the little fairytale book.

BOB

Oh, Patrick what will I do? How can I get these books?

PATRICK

Hey, maybe you can give them money! I’m sure they’ll let you read them for awhile.

BOB

Oh my God, there’s a library on campus! I can borrow books and also read them in there! Let’s go Patrick!

PATRICK (cocky and proud)

I know I have the best ideas!

Scene 6 – in the library – day – INT.

Bob sits in a table and leaves some books on it. Then he sees William near them reading an art book and whispers to Patrick

BOB

Patrick! This is my new best friend, William! (he starts yelling) William! Hi William! Heyyyyy! (William is annoyed and mumbles to himself)

WILLIAM

Don’t talk to him, William. He’ll annoy you again.

BOB

Hey William! Hey!!! Hi William! William! Heyyy! HelloOoooOOOOoo!!!!!!!! (William gets angry and shouts)

WILLIAM

What do you want, Bob??? I’m reading! (then the librarian comes over)

LIBRARIAN

Please, Mr. William, keep it quiet. This is a library!

WILLIAM

But but but but! UGH! (he takes his books and moves over. Bob opens his book and Patrick opens his own too)

BOB

A…buh…loh…nee. That’s a weird word. Maybe it’s Italian…like macaroni? Aci…dahf…olous… milk…maybe it’s a flavored milk, like chocolate! Wow, Patrick! These books are soo hard! There are big and difficult words!

PATRICK

Yes, they are! What’s a little…chick…eeeen…? or…ummmmm…brrrrreeeee…la? or…wait a minute!

BOB

What is it, Patrick?

PATRICK

Ohhhhh! I forgot I cant read! (he closes the book)

BOB

Patrick, look at this word! Mimosa! Isn’t this a funny word?

PATRICK

Right, it is! (they start laughing out loud) You are sooo mimosa!

BOB

Nooo you are mimosa!

PATRICK

Oh my God, Bob, let me tell you something!

BOB

What?

PATRICK

Mimosa. (they laugh)

BOB

Oh oh and you know what else?

PATRICK

What?

BOB

Mimosa!!! (William is so annoyed and is about to yell at them but the librarian looks at him like he’s the one that makes noise)

WILLIAM

Ugh!!!

PATRICK

Bob! Let’s pull a prank!

BOB

What prank?

PATRICK

Let’s go and scare people!

BOB

No, Patrick, this isn’t right!

PATRICK

Oh you lawful citizens! You bore me to death!

BOB

Hey, I’m not boring! You know what, let’s do it! Come on, Patrick! Drag me to the underground world! Make me an outlaw…an outcast…a social parasite! Show me the dark side of life!

PATRICK

Chill out. It’s only just a prank. Ok, let’s go to your “new best friend” and scare the squid out of him!

BOB

William? nooo…

PATRICK

You’re such a baby! (he puts his finger in his mouth)

BOB

Okay, let’s do it! (they move close to William)

WILLIAM (thinking)

What do these idiots want now? Oh Lord. William, whatever they do don’t talk to them. I shouldn’t be loud! (the librarian looks at him)

LIBRARIAN (V.O.)

That’s right! At last you understand you shouldn’t be loud!

WILLIAM (V.O.)

Hey! stop reading my thoughts!

LIBRARIAN (V.O.)

Shhhh!!!! (after a while, Bob and Patrick pop in front of William and shout)

BOB/ PATRICK

MIMOSAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and they burst into laughter)

WILLIAM

LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!! (the librarian goes to him angry)

LIBRARIAN

Okay, that’s it, mister! Whether you leave now or I’ll call security!

WILLIAM

But but but they and then mimosaaaa and…ughhhh!!!! I HATE YOU!!! (he shouts to Bob while leaving)

BOB

We love you too, William! (with a big smile)

PATRICK (using his fingers to quote)

See? Good “best friends” understand when “they” call “you” mimosa.

BOB

Hey lady, you are so mimosa!

LIBRARIAN

Watch your mouth, kid! Watch your mouth!

BOB

Sorry!

SCENE 7 – in Bob’s house – evening- INT.

Bob enters with Patrick dressed like a cat.

BOB

Okay, Patrick, I think no one will understand you now. 1…2…3…let’s go! (they start running in the halls sneaking behind people. Then they run into a warden)

WARDEN

What’s going on here?

BOB

Nothing, sir! I mean madam, I mean old lady, I mean professor, I mean girl, I mean boy, I mean warden…I mean…dog, I mean ugh!

WARDEN

Who is that?

BOB

It’s…ummm…a cat! My cat! I call him Gary. (The warden looks suspicious but then she starts smiling and caressing Patrick on his head)

PROFESSOR

Hey, kitty kitty! How pretty are you, uh? How pretty pretty?

PATRICK

A lot?

BOB (whispers)

Shhh! Do the cat!

PATRICK

Oh! Ummm…moooo!

BOB

Hahahaha how funny. Funny kitty. Pretty funny kitty-kitty. This is a cow!

WARDEN

How’d you call me?

BOB

Cow! Not you! Him! Her! them! It? (whispers) it’s meow!

PATRICK

Now?

BOB

Meow!

PATRICK

Cow? I didn’t do the cow!

WARDEN

You are weird.

BOB

Do the meow! Now! Loud!

PATRICK

Wow poetry. So mimosa.

WARDEN

Anyway, go to bed, kid. (she leaves)

BOB

Ok, goodnight!

PATRICK

Meow!
